Its succesors â" Ethiopia and the medieval kingdoms of Nubia â" would outlast the pharoahs and outdo their grande. Black cloth with gilt title and decorations to spine and decorations to front cover. Endpapers are maps. Top edge gilt. Preface by Michael Wood. Colour photos. xxi and 694 pages including index. Small bump to lower corner of front board else a lovely copy contained in publisher's slipcase which has a corresponding bump to one end and is very lightly scuffed. Packaged with care and promptly dispatched.
